Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sports was established by the decision of the Meeting of the Scientific Council dated June 12, 2023 (protocol No. 12). The Department of Physical Training has been one of the main educational and scientific structural units of the Faculty of Coaching at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sports. It is responsible for teaching relevant subjects in the fields of General Physical Preparation and Pre-Military Preparation Teaching, training teachers, coaches, and scientific-pedagogical personnel at all educational levels, improving qualifications, and conducting educational activities among students. The Department operates in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Education Law, the normative legal acts of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, instructional and methodological guidelines, applicable other legislative acts, the "Model Charter of Higher Education Institutions," the Charter of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sports, the rules for the selection and attestation of faculty members at higher education institutions, and is structured and functions in accordance with this Regulation. The Department includes the head of the department, professors, associate professors, advisors, senior teachers, teachers, assistants, researchers, doctoral candidates, and staff from other categories (including officers with long service in the Armed Forces).
