DAAD Summer School

The 1st week of the International Summer School "Sports Adventures in the Caspian" organized within the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) Go East program at the Azerbaijan Sports Academy has ended. Apart from German students, Academy students also participate in the summer school.

The purpose of the Summer School, held from September 2 to 14, is to increase the sports culture among young people, to evaluate and develop the physical and social abilities of the participants, to strengthen solidarity in sports competitions and to increase intercultural communication. The participants of the summer school were involved in sports-oriented trainings and seminars held by the secretary of the International Programs Commission of the National Olympic Committee, Jeyhun Rahmanov, associate professor of ADA University, Anar Valiyev, advisor to the vice-rector of the Azerbaijan Sports Academy, Zarifa Kamilova, mountaineer, general secretary of the Azerbaijan Mountaineering Federation, Israfil Ashurlu. As part of the cultural program, an excursion to the "Ateshgah" temple, State Historical-Architectural Reserve, Heydar Aliyev Center and the outskirts of the city was organized with the participants. In addition, within the framework of the International Summer School, the participants watched the training process of "Sabah" FC with 17-year-olds, took part in a chess tournament and intellectual competitions.
